  • 1 cup salted butter (room temperature)
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 cups cake flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup plus 2 cups milk (divided)
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • Sliced almonds for decorating

Instructions
