  • 2 lbs ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • 1 onion (diced)
  • 1 onion (sliced)
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, diced onion, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
  3. Shape mixture into 6–8 oval patties and set aside.
  4. In an oven-safe skillet over medium heat, brown patties for about 3–4 minutes per side until golden. Remove and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, sauté sliced onions in butter until softened. Add flour and stir for about 2 minutes. Gradually whisk in beef broth and heavy cream until smooth.
  6. Return browned patties to the skillet, cover tightly with a lid or foil, and bake for 45 minutes. Uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes until bubbly.
