Ingredients

Scale
  • ⅔ cup white sugar
  • 2 cups warm water (110°F/45°C)
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • 6 cups bread flour
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 ½ tablespoons active dry yeast

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by dissolving sugar in warm water and stirring in yeast. Let it rise until foamy.
  2. Mix salt and vegetable oil into the yeast mixture, then gradually add bread flour one cup at a time until fully incorporated. Knead until smooth.
  3. Place kneaded dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise until doubled (about 1 hour).
  4. After rising, punch down the dough and divide it into two portions. Shape into loaves and place in oiled loaf pans. Let them rise again for about 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake loaves for around 30 minutes or until golden brown.
