- 150g unsalted butter (softened)
- 5 garlic cloves (minced)
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 head of garlic (halved)
- Fresh thyme and rosemary
- 1.5 cups beef broth
- 2.5 cups dry red wine
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to a moderate temperature.
- Prepare the herb garlic butter by mixing softened butter with minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
- Rub the mixture generously over the standing rib roast.
- Place quartered onion and halved garlic in a roasting pan with sprigs of thyme and rosemary.
- Set the seasoned roast on top of the aromatics.
- Insert a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the roast and cook until your desired doneness is reached, around two hours.
- Let the roast rest for at least twenty minutes before slicing against the grain.
