  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (optional)
  • Green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate the diced chicken in a mixture of soy sauce, sesame oil, and black pepper for 10–15 minutes.
  2. Prepare the sauce by whisking together soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), black pepper, salt, crushed red pepper flakes (if using), and cornstarch slurry. Set aside.
  3. Heat butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add marinated chicken and stir-fry until golden brown (4–5 minutes). Remove chicken from the skillet.
  4. In the same skillet, sauté sliced onion and minced garlic until fragrant (about 2 minutes).
  5. Add cabbage, bell pepper, and carrot; stir-fry until tender-crisp (5–6 minutes).
  6. Return chicken to the skillet and pour in the prepared sauce; cook for an additional 2–3 minutes until thickened.
  7. Adjust seasoning as needed and serve hot garnished with green onions.
