  • 1/4 cup (32 grams) all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup toffee bits
  • 1 tablespoon butter, at room temperature

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F. Line a muffin tin with paper cups.
  2. In one bowl, whisk together all dry ingredients (flour, sugars, cocoa powder, espresso powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt).
  3. In another bowl, combine melted butter, buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients; stir gently until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  5. In a separate small bowl, mix extra flour and brown sugar with room-temperature butter and toffee bits until crumbly for the topping.
