  • Unsalted butter (for frosting)
  • 6 tbsp natural unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder

  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2/3 cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 3/4 cups unsalted butter
  • 6 cups powdered sugar
  • 3/4 cup heavy whipping cream
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a springform pan.
  2. Combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Add milk, oil, vanilla extract, and egg; mix until smooth. Stir in hot water gradually.
  3. Pour batter into the pan and bake for 30-35 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.
  4. Beat cream cheese until creamy; add sugar and cocoa powder gradually. Mix in sour cream and vanilla before incorporating melted chocolate chips and eggs.
  5. Pour cheesecake mixture over one cooled cake layer in the pan and bake at 325°F (160°C) for 60-70 minutes.
