- 500 grams chicken breasts
- 2 tablespoons ghee or sunflower oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 200 grams full-fat plain yogurt
- 200 ml coconut cream
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon mild chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1 teaspoon white pepper
- 200 grams tomato purée
- 50 grams ground almonds (optional)
- 1 tablespoon sugar or honey
- 100 ml double cream
- Fresh coriander for garnish
Instructions
- Gather and chop all ingredients.
- Heat ghee in a large skillet over medium heat; sauté onions until translucent (about 5 minutes).
- Add garlic and ginger; cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- Stir in spices and cook for another minute.
- Add chicken pieces; brown on all sides (5–7 minutes).
- Mix in tomato purée, yogurt, and coconut cream; simmer gently.
- Stir in ground almonds (if using), sugar or honey, and double cream; simmer for 10 minutes until thickened.
- Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot with flatbread or rice.
