  • 500 grams chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons ghee or sunflower oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 200 grams full-fat plain yogurt
  • 200 ml coconut cream
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon mild chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon white pepper
  • 200 grams tomato purée
  • 50 grams ground almonds (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar or honey
  • 100 ml double cream
  • Fresh coriander for garnish

Instructions

  1. Gather and chop all ingredients.
  2. Heat ghee in a large skillet over medium heat; sauté onions until translucent (about 5 minutes).
  3. Add garlic and ginger; cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  4. Stir in spices and cook for another minute.
  5. Add chicken pieces; brown on all sides (5–7 minutes).
  6. Mix in tomato purée, yogurt, and coconut cream; simmer gently.
  7. Stir in ground almonds (if using), sugar or honey, and double cream; simmer for 10 minutes until thickened.
  8. Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot with flatbread or rice.
