Ingredients

- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup hot coffee (regular or decaf)
- 1 and 1/4 cups unsalted butter (for frosting)
- Additional confectioners’ sugar and cocoa powder for frosting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (177°C). Grease two 9-inch cake pans and line them with parchment paper.
- In one bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and optional espresso powder.
- In another bowl, combine the wet ingredients: oil, eggs, vanilla extract, buttermilk, and hot coffee. Mix until fully blended.
