Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 1/25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 packets Fleischmann’s RapidRise Yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (for filling)
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 4 oz cream cheese (for icing)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (for icing)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm water and yeast; let sit until foamy (about 5 minutes). Add sugar, salt, melted butter, egg, and flour gradually until a soft dough forms.
  2. Knead on a floured surface for about 5–7 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl and cover to rise in a warm area for about an hour.
  3. Roll the risen dough into a rectangle, spread with softened butter, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  4. Roll tightly into a log shape and cut into equal pieces (12 rolls). Place in a greased baking dish.
  5. Cover and let rise again for about 30 minutes until puffy. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for about 25 minutes until golden brown.
  6. For icing: Mix cream cheese, softened butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Spread over warm rolls before serving.
