- 4 1/2 – 5 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 2 packets Fleischmann’s RapidRise Yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 6 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter (for filling)
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 4 oz cream cheese (for icing)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter (for icing)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine warm water and yeast; let sit until foamy (about 5 minutes). Add sugar, salt, melted butter, egg, and flour gradually until a soft dough forms.
- Knead on a floured surface for about 5–7 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl and cover to rise in a warm area for about an hour.
- Roll the risen dough into a rectangle, spread with softened butter, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll tightly into a log shape and cut into equal pieces (12 rolls). Place in a greased baking dish.
- Cover and let rise again for about 30 minutes until puffy. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for about 25 minutes until golden brown.
- For icing: Mix cream cheese, softened butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Spread over warm rolls before serving.
