Ingredients

  • 2 Oranges (quartered, peels on)
  • 2 Lemons (quartered, peels on)
  • 2 Red onions (sliced)
  • 2 Jalapenos (sliced)
  • 7 oz. Ginger root (peeled and sliced)
  • 2 oz. Turmeric root (peeled and sliced)
  • 7 oz. Horseradish root (peeled and sliced)
  • 2 Heads of garlic (crushed)
  • 4 sprigs Fresh rosemary
  • 4 Star anise
  • 2 bottles Apple Cider Vinegar
  • Raw honey to taste

Instructions

  1. Gather and wash all ingredients thoroughly.
  2. Chop the oranges, lemons, onions, and jalapenos.
  3. Peel and slice the ginger, turmeric, and horseradish roots; crush the garlic.
  4. Layer all prepared ingredients in a large jar starting with citrus fruits at the bottom.
  5. Pour apple cider vinegar over the layered ingredients until covered.
  6. Seal the jar tightly and store in a cool dark place for 3-6 weeks, shaking gently every few days.
  7. After steeping, strain out solids using a strainer and add honey if desired.
