  • 1 pre-made pie crust
  • 1 pound large Florida shrimp, peeled and chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • ½ cup onion, finely chopped
  • ½ cup celery, finely chopped
  • ½ cup red bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • ½ cup shredded white cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out the pie crust into a 9-inch pie pan and crimp the edges. Prick the bottom with a fork and brush with egg wash. Pre-bake for about 10 minutes.
  3. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat; sauté onions, celery, and bell peppers for about 4 minutes until softened. Stir in garlic and spices; cook for an additional minute.
  4. Add shrimp and cook until pink (about 2-3 minutes). Remove from heat.
  5. In the same skillet, whisk in flour; gradually add cream and milk until thickened.
  6. Stir in cheeses and then mix with shrimp mixture.
  7. Pour filling into the pre-baked crust; sprinkle with panko breadcrumbs mixed with melted butter.
  8. Bake for approximately 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
