  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 2 ¾ cups chicken broth
  • ¾ cup half and half
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • ½ chicken bouillon cube
  • ¾ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • ½ lb. shellbow pasta
  • ¾ teaspoon dried basil
  • ¾ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ¾ teaspoon dried parsley
  • ¼ teaspoon dried thyme
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • ¾ teaspoon mustard powder

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together dried herbs and set aside.
  2. Melt 3 tablespoons of butter in a soup pot over medium heat and sauté minced garlic with the herbs until fragrant.
  3. Add chicken broth, half and half, soy sauce, and crumbled bouillon cube; stir to combine.
  4. Bring to a boil, add shellbow pasta, reduce heat slightly and cook uncovered according to package instructions while stirring frequently.
  5. Once al dente, reduce heat to low; gradually stir in Parmesan cheese until melted.
  6. Finish with remaining tablespoon of butter and fresh lemon juice; stir gently before serving.
