Ingredients
- 16 large mushrooms
- 1/2 lb Italian sausage
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp chopped parsley
- 3 tbsp cream cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish.
- Remove mushroom stems and chop them finely. Sauté the chopped stems with Italian sausage, olive oil, onion, and garlic until browned.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the sautéed mixture with breadcrumbs, Parmesan, parsley, cream cheese, salt, and pepper.
- Stuff each mushroom cap generously with the filling and place them in the baking dish.
- Drizzle lightly with olive oil and bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving warm.
