Ingredients

  • 4 cups Water
  • 2 tbsp Kashmiri/Himalayan green tea
  • 1/2 tsp Baking soda
  • 12 Star anise
  • 2 Cardamom pods (crushed)
  • 1 Cinnamon stick
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 2 cups Whole milk
  • Sugar or honey to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil water in a saucepan and add green tea; simmer for about 5 minutes.
  2. Stir in baking soda and boil for another 2 minutes until it turns deep red.
  3. Add star anise, crushed cardamom pods, and cinnamon stick; boil for another minute.
  4. Reduce heat and let it simmer for 20-30 minutes until reduced by half.
  5. Stir in salt, then add whole milk and bring it to a boil while stirring continuously.
  6. Once it reaches a pink hue, strain into cups and sweeten with sugar or honey as desired.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy!
