  • 2 pounds chicken breast (cut into 1-inch chunks)
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 eggs (beaten)
  • Canola oil for frying
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 3 tablespoons gochujang paste
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare the sauce by mixing ketchup, gochujang, honey, brown sugar, soy sauce, minced garlic, and water in a bowl.
  2. In a shallow bowl, combine cornstarch, flour, salt, and pepper. In another bowl, beat the eggs.
  3. Heat canola oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Coat each chicken piece first in the egg mixture then in the cornstarch mixture (double coating for extra crunch).
  5. Fry in batches until golden brown (5-7 minutes per batch).
  6. Toss fried chicken with the prepared sauce until well coated.
  7. Serve hot garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.
