  • 1 1/4 lb ground chuck
  • 1 15-oz can tomato sauce
  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 1/4 cups small curd cottage cheese
  • 1 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • Green onions (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground chuck. Drain fat and stir in tomato sauce, salt, and pepper. Simmer.
  3. Cook egg noodles in boiling water until al dente; drain.
  4. In a bowl, mix sour cream with cottage cheese and pepper. Stir in noodles and green onions.
  5. In a baking dish, layer half of the noodle mixture, half of the meat mixture, and half of the cheese; repeat layers.
  6. Bake for 20 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
