Ingredients
- 500g ground beef
- 200g spaghetti
- 6 crusty white rolls
- 3 garlic cloves (made into paste)
- 240ml beef stock
- 200g mozzarella cheese
- Fresh basil and parsley
- Olive oil for cooking
- 1 medium white onion, finely diced
- 2 garlic cloves, finely diced
- 1 tablespoon tomato puree
- 80ml red wine
- 500g tomato passata
- ½ tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- ½ bunch fresh basil, chopped
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon sugar
- 20g freshly grated parmesan
- 100g butter, melted
- 30g parmesan for butter
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
Instructions
- Cook onion until golden brown in a large skillet, then add minced garlic and ground beef; brown thoroughly.
- Stir in tomato puree, red wine, passata, stock, Worcestershire sauce, basil, oregano, sugar, and parmesan; simmer for 25 minutes.
- Hollow out the bread rolls and mix melted butter with garlic paste and parsley; brush inside and outside of rolls.
- Cook spaghetti until al dente; mix with the meat sauce.
- Fill each roll with spaghetti mixture and top with mozzarella cheese.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 8-10 minutes until crispy.
