  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 8 oz tomato sauce
  • 14.5 oz diced tomatoes (with juice)

Instructions

  2. Sauté minced garlic in the pot for one minute.
  3. Add tomato sauce, chili powder, cumin, oregano, salt, and cayenne; stir well.
  4. Lower the heat, cover, and let simmer for about 60 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. If too thick, add water to adjust consistency; incorporate masa harina slurry for thickening.
  6. Fold in the beans and warm through for about 10 minutes.
