  • 3 cups (600g) sugar
  • 5 large eggs
  • 3 cups (375g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2g) baking powder
  • 1 cup (235g) whole milk
  • 2 teaspoons (8g) vanilla extract
  • 5 tablespoons (25g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 4 oz Semi-Sweet or Dark Chocolate
  • 3 oz Heavy Cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F. Grease and flour a tube pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix cocoa powder with hot water until smooth; set aside.
  3. Whisk together flour and baking powder; set aside.
  4. Cream softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Add eggs one at a time; mix well after each addition.
  6. Alternate adding the flour mixture and milk mixed with vanilla until just combined.
  7. Divide batter into three parts: leave one plain, mix cocoa mixture into another, and add melted chocolate to the last part.
  8. Pour each layer into the prepared pan; bake for about 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
