- 1/4 cup warm water (100° to 110°F)
- 1/2 Tbsp granulated sugar
- 8 oz full fat sour cream
- 2 Tbsp granulated sugar
- 2 Tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 large egg (lightly beaten)
- 3 to 3 ½ c bread flour (all-purpose can also be used!)

- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 3 c powdered sugar
- 3 Tbsp cream cheese, softened
- 2–4 Tbsp milk
- 2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
- ¼ tsp vanilla extract
- Purple, green and gold sprinkles to decorate
Instructions
- Activate the yeast by combining it with warm water and sugar; let it foam.
- In a saucepan, melt sour cream, granulated sugar, butter, and salt. Cool to lukewarm.
- In a stand mixer, combine the sour cream mixture, yeast mixture, and egg. Gradually add flour until a soft dough forms.
- Knead until smooth and elastic. Let rise until doubled in size.
- Shape into a ring with cinnamon filling inside and allow to rise again.
- Bake at 350°F for 25-35 minutes until golden brown.
- Prepare glaze by mixing powdered sugar with cream cheese and milk; drizzle over cooled cake before decorating.
