Ingredients
Scale
- 50–60 wonton wrappers
- 200 g ground pork
- 200 g raw shrimp (chopped)
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 2 garlic cloves (smashed)
- 1-inch ginger slice
- 2 green onions (chopped)
- 1 tbsp grated ginger
- 1 tbsp light soy sauce
- 2 tbsp Chinese cooking wine
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp toasted sesame oil
- 1 1/2 tbsp light soy sauce
- 2 tsp sugar
- 1/4 – 1/2 tsp sesame oil
- Shredded green onions (for serving)
- Bok choy or noodles (optional)
Instructions
- Make the filling by combining ground pork, chopped shrimp, ginger, green onions, soy sauce, cooking wine, salt, and sesame oil in a mixing bowl.
- Use a potato masher to achieve a chunky consistency without turning the shrimp into paste.
- Lay wonton wrappers flat, place about one teaspoon of filling in the center, brush edges with water, fold to seal, and shape as desired.
- Boil a pot of water and cook wontons until they float (about 4 minutes). Remove with a slotted spoon.
- For the broth, simmer chicken broth with smashed garlic and ginger for 5–10 minutes.
- Assemble your soup by placing cooked noodles (if using) in bowls, topping with wontons and hot broth, then garnish with green onions.
